In reply to Anonymous. Comment That's not right. Did you have seizures at work? Did you just need time off for recovery? I was lucky. Same employer 30 years but nothing worse than auras at work. Sick time off for adjustments after seizures. Didn't the bargaining unit support you?

In reply to James. James I feel angry for you re your employer situation. I was fortunate to get employment with a steady employer and didn't have anything past auras in the workplace. I understand your anger at the drug issue as well. I was up to 8 meds per. and over the counter at one point. I'm down to one at minimum dose. I hope you find that doctor that will make the difference.

I had my first grand mal at sixteen. Undiagnosed until 25. I’m 66. There’s been another 30 grand mals and hundreds of auras. Prevent 95% of seizures with bio feedback. That could be higher except for denying the seizure and trying to carry on despite the warnings. I’ve been to continental Europe 10 times, the UK and Ireland 12 times, the Caribbean 10 times, the States 6 times, New Zealand 3 times and Australia once and SE Asia once. My last trip I went on a dozen mountain hikes alone in Scotland in the off season. The longest was 44 km., over 6,000 feet of elevation over 4 Munros, 13 hours. There was a sleet storm on the last top with zero visibility and a cold rain the last 10 km. I’ve driven over 100,000 km on those trips. The trips totaled near 3 years. Stay in shape, get good doctors and work with them. I’m still healthier than the average man my age, play sports, go to the gym. I plan on another 20 good years. Tell the epilepsy to go to hell and make the most of your life. Touch wood, I get my cancer update next week. Wish me luck. Comment

In reply to James. Firstly really sorry to hear about your difficulties. Regarding one of the points you made about not hiring you, perhaps this forces or pushes you to try to become an entrepreneur since you said you are a great worker maybe this will be successful for you to build something yourself. I will definitely pray for your success!

In June I will be 60 & my 1st ever seizure was at 5 MONTHS old. No retirement for me, as everyone laid me off or did not hire me when my health became an employer/employee health & liability issue. I was & still am a GREAT WORKER/ EMPLOYEE but some people would never see greatness if it hit them in the face. Now as STRESS & other reasons has made my condition worse, my condition IS THAT and not A DISORDER as so many doctors want you to think you have A DISORDER & no condition of seizures. A disorder can NEVER be cured, BUT a condition CAN BE CURED & HEALED,, IF these neurologists would ever care to do that for anyone. So I know what all of you can think at times. Taking too many MGS of AED’s is never a good idea, as MORE seizurs can happen from doctors making your brain a DRUG DISPOSAL DUMPSTER.

Lost a great job of 15 yrs for GM’s ON job #2 less than 2yrs. have had 3 breakthroughs. WTF We weren’t meant to work with condition.

I am almost 16 and I started having grand mal seizures about 3 months ago. I went to the hospital, but they told me it was probably a one-time thing, which was obviously wrong. I hope I can get a job, and some of that CBD oil I heard of from a friend with epilepsy.

Yeah it is kinda depressing especially when you lose jobs due to this condition. Plus my doctor recently told me that if I continue having seizures the way I do then I am most likely to either end up braindead or dead by my 50’s haha! I still thanked him for being honest with me haha
